What happened
We couldn't find a clear reason for the move in company filings or news. None of the sources we found says why the stock fell on October 21.
Several law firm notices published October 18 to 20 describe a securities class action against AEVEX. The suit covers people who bought Class A stock between April 17, 2026 and June 4, 2026. It was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. The deadline to seek lead plaintiff status was October 20, 2026.
The notices say the suit concerns a secondary offering of eight million shares announced June 1, 2026, weeks after the April 2026 IPO. They allege the IPO documents described a 180-day lock-up on sales by Madison Dearborn Partners. These are allegations from law firms, and the events they describe happened months before this trading day.

Yahoo Finance published an AEVEX announcement dated October 21, 2026. It said the company "reaffirmed confidence" in its Maritime Systems division and "clarified the status" of the Global Autonomous Reconnaissance Craft (GARC) program.
